Camera Free Weekend

Botany Bay, S.C.

I was sorting through all of my camera cards looking for a particular photo for a newsletter on Friday and left them all at work so I've had an unusual camera free weekend. Odd. These shots are from Botany Bay, one of my favorite places in the world. More in this album.

It is almost a crime to spend such a beautiful afternoon at the movies but I went to see The Social Network at the Terrace and almost wish I hadn't. What a sad tale of greedy privileged mixed up kids insulting and stabbing each other in the back. I hope all the characters weren't as awful as they were portrayed. I'll keep enjoying Facebook as usual but it is going to leave a bad taste for a while. Blah.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend!

It looks like an amazing place, magical and unsettling, the trees in the water.

Hmmm. Glad I didn't go see the movie. I was wavering on going - heard some good reviews, but I think I'll wait until it comes out on DVD now.

As always... Botany Bay is a magical, beautiful place. I was thinking of going to Edisto tomorrow to ride my bike. Less traffic! :)

Pamela - Hope you are doing well. It wasn't that it isn't a good movie. I am sure it is very well done. The characters that were just so sad. Too young to have that much money I guess. They were so self centered and mean to each other. There weren't many appealing personalities in the entire movie.

Susan - you would love it.

Very cool and spooky looking trees!

A camera-free weekend? That's like going without a working toilet in your house!

Almost went to see that this weekend, glad I didn't. The free babysitter, my son, skipped out and my wife and I stayed home. I did start reading "South of Broad" and was hooked.

That are so wonderful. I'll bet they would be great in B&W.

Pixel - true! It was weird.

Beach Bum - You will be reading for a while....straight through the book.

Randy - I bet they would. They look like skeleton trees.

We have a Botany Bay in Australia as well but no where near as hauntingly lovely as your Botany Bay. This place, here is highly commercialised and has been dredged. It currently provides a container terminal for Large container vessels and the East West runway has been built into the middle of it.

BeachGypsy - it is a wonderful place! Pelicans flying, large shells. Very cool.
